Poa Tiong Siaw heads the Market Assessment Unit, which is responsible for managing the market surveillance, compliance and dispute resolution processes for the wholesale electricity market. He joined EMC as senior economist in February 2003 and worked on evolving the wholesale electricity market for efficiency gains. He was instrumental in advising the Rules Change Panel and the EMC Board on a variety of market design issues. Before joining EMC, he was senior economist in the economics division of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, where he conducted and oversaw economic analyses to support economic and trade policies. Tiong Siaw also worked as a treasury economist for DBS Bank and was involved in economic, currency and interest rate-related research. He holds a Master of Social Sciences degree from National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Business degree from the Nanyang Technological University.

Lee Teck Huat has many years of experience in the electricity industry. Teck Huat joined the Electricity Department of the Public Utilities Board upon graduation from Monash University. He first worked as a maintenance engineer in a power station and later as a project engineer to oversee power plant projects. Upon corporatisation of the Electricity Department of the Public Utilities Board in 1995, Teck Huat was transferred to PowerGrid to perform administrative and training functions. With the introduction of the Singapore Electricity Pool in 1998, he joined the Pooling and Settlements Division of PowerGrid and was engaged in the operation of the electricity market. Teck Huat joined EMC at its inception and continues to be involved in the electricity market.
