Energy Market Company is pleased to host the seventh Singapore Electricity Roundtable on 1 and 2 November 2011.
The Roundtable is a well-established event that connects influencers, decision makers, potential investors and experts in the electricity and related industries. It is an important international forum where senior executives discuss and debate the opportunities, challenges and issues facing the electricity, energy and related sectors in Asia Pacific and globally.
This year’s Roundtable will again be part of the Singapore International Energy Week organised by the Energy Market Authority (EMA). Day 1 (1 November 2011) Singapore Electricity Roundtable 2011 will cover a wide range of topics* on Day 1, including the role of the authority in the development of a competitive market, the benefits of integrating gas and electricity markets, and the prospects for nuclear power in ASEAN. There will also be an update on the European electricity markets, as well as a discussion on demand response in electricity markets. Our distinguished speakers* this year include: A highly-anticipated item on the programme each year is the panel discussion. This year, the panel will debate the benefits and challenges of increasing competition in the National Electricity Market of Singapore (NEMS), Asia’s first liberalised electricity market which is into its ninth year of operation. Our panelists include:
The programme on Day 1 will end with a standing cocktail and buffet dinner at Jim Thompson, Dempsey Hill. Roundtable attendees can look forward to an evening of fine Thai cuisine in a heritage venue amid warm Thai hospitality.
The workshops on Day 2, which will be conducted by our in-house experts, will provide a comprehensive update on the NEMS as well as insights into the Electricity Market Operation Benchmarking Survey.
Last year’s Roundtable attracted more than 200 participants from Singapore as well as other countries in Asia Pacific, Europe and the US. Participants included government officials, company presidents, CEOs, managing directors and key figures from organisations in the electricity and related industries, such as market participants of the NEMS, financial institutions, law firms and consultancies. We are expecting a similar attendance for this year’s event.
Mark your calendar and join us for this year’s Singapore Electricity Roundtable to gain insights into the electricity industry, learn about the issues and challenges facing the energy and electricity sectors, and network with local, regional and global industry experts and decision makers.
This year’s Roundtable attendees will also receive complimentary VIP passes to attend the Asia Smart Grid 2011 exhibition, a dedicated exhibition for international smart grid providers and suppliers to network and share knowledge with Asia’s policy makers, regulators, utilities companies and system integrators
