Prior to the beginning of each calendar month, EMC calculates the Monthly Energy Uplift Charge (MEUC) for that calendar month and recovers from load on the basis of withdrawal quantity in MWh.
The MEUC is mainly a projection of monthly amounts for compensation that includes the cost of ancillary services and related procurement cost, compensation claims payable or received by EMC and the PSO, financial penalties and insurance monies received by EMC; and any shortfall amount arising from over/under recovery of the previous month’s MEUC.
