EMC has developed a performance-based regulation system – Performance Incentive Management System (PIMS) – in accordance with its Market Licence. The PIMS is designed to encourage EMC to identify and provide the services that are of most value to its customers. It provides incentives to ensure the delivery of such services at the highest levels, i.e., exceeding pre-agreed targets. The performance targets for PIMS are evaluated annually and approved by the EMA, which also reviews EMC’s achievements against target at the end of the year.
