Market surveillance and compliance

The Market Surveillance and Compliance Panel (MSCP) is an independent body established under the Singapore Electricity Market Rules. Its role is to identify rule breaches and assess whether the underlying structure of the market is consistent with the efficient and fair operation of a competitive market. The MSCP recommends remedial actions and has powers to take enforcement action. Every year, the MSCP issues a report with its assessment of the state of the competition, efficiency and compliance in the NEMS. The Market Assessment Unit of Energy Market Company provides support to the MSCP.
