Seong Wah joined EMC in August 2011. He heads the Market Operations and Information Technology (MOIT) teams which provide the resources and support to ensure that the trading, pricing and settlement in the NEMS are in accordance with the Market Rules. Seong Wah brings with him extensive experience from the public sector. Prior to joining EMC, he was involved in several large scale whole-of-government infrastructure and technology initiatives, including the Standard ICT Operating Environment (SOE) which was the largest government infocomm programme at the time with a project value of S$1.3 billion. Seong Wah graduated from Nanyang Technological University with an honours degree in Electrical Engineering.
Henry Gan oversees the market operations of the NEMS and ensures that market operations are consistent with the strategic direction of the organisation. He leads a team of customer driven staff to plan and implement solutions that support an efficient and reliable market. This includes pricing and information operations, settlement and clearing operations as well as the management of ancillary services. Henry has significant industry and technical experience and has been with EMC since the start of the market. Prior to joining EMC in early 2001, he was Market Operations Manager for the Singapore Electricity Pool with PowerGrid. Henry graduated from Nanyang Technological University with an Honours degree in Electrical Engineering.
James Ng oversees the Infrastructure Team to effectively maintain and support the company’s IT Infrastructure to ensure that the demands of a robust, 24x7, critical IT systems are met. Equipped with 13 years of working experience in the financial and IT sectors, James has extensive experience in establishing support systems for various business critical systems. He previously worked with Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) and with other companies in the IT business. James holds both a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree from the Nanyang Technological University as well as an MBA from Strathclyde Business University.
Li Liaun is responsible for the smooth delivery of EMC’s real-time trading exchange platform and is also one of the key solution architects involved in the revamp of the company’s core applications like offer management system and settlement system. With over 15 years of working experience in the IT sector, Li Liaun has extensive experience in the areas of solution architecture, solution development and project management. Prior to joining EMC in 2008, Li Liaun had worked in Crimson Logic and Fujitsu as an IT project manager with successful deployment of large scale solutions in Singapore, parts of Asia and North America. Li Liaun graduated from the National University of Singapore with an Honours degree in Computer Science.
Asad Syed Muhammad oversees the IT Operations team handling the 24x7 operations support for the NEMS and internal IT systems. His responsibilities include managing the day to day operational issues, system change releases and application security in addition to ensuring risk compliance with IT policies and the market rules obligation. Prior to joining EMC in 2001, Asad gained significant IT experiences in the financial sector. He holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from FAST Technology University, Karachi and an MBA from the University of Bradford.
