Paul Poh heads the Market Administration team at EMC, which is responsible for advising the Rules Change Panel and the EMC Board on market design issues and for evolving the wholesale electricity market to attain efficiency gains. Paul gained extensive experience in the areas of development and operation during his years with the Singapore Commodity Exchange and the Singapore International Monetary Exchange Ltd (now Singapore Exchange – Derivative Trading). He has a comprehensive knowledge of audit and compliance, risk management, trading systems, clearing house operations, new product development, rules and policy formulation. Paul was a key member of the pioneer team that set up Singapore Commodity Exchange Ltd. He was also involved in the establishment of a futures brokerage operation for a clearing member of the Singapore International Monetary Exchange Ltd. Paul graduated from the National University of Singapore with a degree in Business Administration.
Liang Ching advises the Rules Change Panel through his economic analysis and proposals to enhance efficiency in the electricity market. Before joining EMC in 2007, he worked in the Planning and Research Department of the Ministry of National Development, and the Housing Market Analysis Unit of the Housing and Development Board. Liang Ching holds double degrees (high honors) in Electrical Engineering and Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Social Sciences degree in Applied Economics (Lim Chong Yah Medal) from the National University of Singapore.
